Pam Ellick b.'97 SUNY New Paltz '20
BFA in Painting and DrawingCalifornia born and raised in the Hudson Valley, multidisciplinary artist Pam Ellick has been existing between places— an ongoing experience that continues to shape her perspective and practice in finding a sense of home in solitude/community and through motion/stillness.
In processing this reality, her creative practice considers the intersections between the tangible and intangible; personal talisman, curiosity, tangled paths, connection, rituals, and mirages. Working in paint, clay, printmaking, textiles, photography, video, and experimental music, each medium informs the next as layered narratives take form.
She examines ideas of metaphysical relatability and quantum entanglement through storybook imagery, and invites viewers to reflect on their own connections to the secular, yet sacred.
